The plant was commissioned. The main products were chemical equipment and spare parts.
The plant began to develop the release of new types of heat exchangers, capacitive equipment, devices with mixers.
The construction of the foundry has been completed.
The output increased by 20 times compared with 1946. A new building of the tool workshop was commissioned.
The plant started the construction of the stamping shop. A branch of the Institute (now Tambov State Technical University) was organized.
The first batches of polyethylene pipes in the USSR were produced. For the Volga Tire Plant, two automated lines for processing cord fabric were manufactured. The export option went to Ceylon.
The plant transferred to the production of individual and collective means of respiratory protection.
The following products were created and mastered: collective respiratory protection equipment of the filter-ventilation installation type for shelters of civil defense and mobile vehicles, tanks, airplanes, etc.
The plant was reorganized into the Tambov Production Association “Tambovmash”.
The company introduced industrial gas masks and mastered the production of hose gas masks of various modifications.
Employees of the company developed universal emergency equipment - self-rescuers SIP-1.
Also they mastered the production of coal catalysts and the serial production of HP-I chemical absorber.
Enterprise Tambovmash fully switched to the production of modern industrial filtering gas masks, respirators and filters. All products manufactured by Tambovmash were specially developed for use by industrial production personnel at potentially hazardous power facilities, gas, metallurgical, chemical and petrochemical, coal mining, railway transport, agriculture and other industries.

From July 5, 2018, Tambovmash became a part of the management organization Zelinsky Group Ltd., which brought together the leading Russian manufacturers of respiratory protection equipment - JSC Sorbent, JSC Tambovmash, JSC Arti-Zavod and JSC EHMZ named after N.D. Zelinsky.
